Regular participation in physical activity has been shown to improve cognitive vitality.
A recent study found that individuals who participated in leisure-time physical
activity during their midlife (approximately 40 – 60 years of age) at least 2 times
per week for at least 20-30 minutes per session had a 52% and a 62% lower risk for
dementia and Alzheimers’ disease in comparison to their sedentary counterparts (Kareholt
et al., Lancet Neurology 4:705-711, 2005.
